Overview

1968 Mercedes-Benz 280SL Sports R113. Inline-six, rear-wheel drive, manual transmission, 64,653 km recorded. Red exterior over cream interior. The 280SL is the final and most desirable iteration of the Pagoda series, larger displacement and more torque than the 230 and 250 models that preceded it. This example retains the original manual gearbox, a configuration increasingly rare in the current market. The colour combination is period-correct and suits the car's European touring character. The R113 chassis defined Mercedes-Benz sports car design for nearly a decade, and the 280SL remains the model collectors favour for road use.
